Managerial moves, or some might say madness!

06/10/2022

No doubt with all the manager changes this summer there could well be more than just a few players changing clubs as they follow their gaffer!

As one door closes, another one opens - just say that to the new Helston manager Matt Cusack. Surprisingly, to most of us, no longer required at promoted Plymouth Parkway, within a week he's back in the game and in charge of Helston, a club that wants to go places!

Changes so far this summer at just our Step 5 and 6 clubs (that I'm aware of as I know there's been a few in the East SWPL as well that I've not listed!):-

Saltash - Out Dane Bunney, In Shane Krac and Danny Lewis (joint)

Helston - In Matt Cusack who has subsequently confirmed Dan Harrison as assistant manager

Millbrook - Gary Jeffery has joined to "work alongside" 1st team manager Macca Brown and there's a new coach Lee Britchford

Torpoint Athletic - Gary Williams standing down as assistant to spend more time with his family.

Okehampton Argyle - well known former pro keeper and Bodmin Town favourite Kevin Miller has been appointed.

St Blazey - In comes Ryan Fice as Phil Lafferty "moves upstairs"

Dobwalls - Ben Washam is joined by Brad Gargett as joint manager, with Mike Bridgeman as assistant manager. Wes Westlake has left the club.

Bodmin Town - the club has officially confirmed Matt Hayden as their new No.1 who joined the Priory Park outfit last season as it was suggested that long-term boss Darren Gilbert would be standing down. Joining the coaching staff is UEFA B coach Christian Merrin.

Launceston - here's a new name to Cornish football - Neil Price is the latest Pennygillam manager having moved into the local area. He's an ex-pro and former manager of a number of non-league clubs such as Staines Town.

Penryn Athletic - almost under the radar, Micky Hunt has taken on the role which has been vacant for a few months.

Penzance - the Magpies have a new management pair well known to the area in Adrian Ferrell and John McCallum (a former favourite player at Penlee). It'll be interesting to see how they go about reviving the much liked club.

St Dennis - new manager Simon Minett has already had some nervous heart- shattering moments at the club as just a couple days after being announced as the new boss, the club were relegated from the SWPL! Luckily a place has become available in the nationwide NLS to allow the Boscawen Park club back in and so any hard work already carried out behind the scenes by Simon didn't go to waste!

As you can see there's been so many already and so apologies if I've missed any!
